It is crazy how time slips by!! It has been two weeks since we went to Oktoberfest. It was quite an experience. By the time Peter returned from his motorcycle trip (which he will tell you all about on a separate posting) and by the time my flight arrived from Amsterdam it was Saturday afternoon, so we did not arrive to the fair grounds until late on Saturday afternoon. By this point everything was in full swing and there was quite a few drunken German folks! Oh my! Apparently Munich has the biggest Oktoberfest – Over 5 million people attend the festival in the two weeks it goes on. It is like a county fair meets the German Tourist Club - rides, beer, sausage, and lots of very drunk people in lederhosen!! Though we arrived late we managed to get down a couple big beers (about 3 beers per glass) and eat some good food (roasted chicken, pig knuckle, and potato dumplings). After the festival we headed out to an after party at a club close by – much like a club in the states but people were…yes…dancing to disco in their lederhosen. ☺
Other than that all is well - our stuff arrived today - very exciting - so I am off to unpack and find out what all we have. I promise to write more soon about the rest of our life in Amsterdam, I just had to get this posting out! I have been meaning to send it for a while now and could no longer postpone it!! Peter and I spent Sunday morning wandering the Munich center and found this lovely restaurant where we enjoyed Weiner schnitzel (breaded veal) and white veal sausage with sweet mustard. Yummy! Good thing I gave up on that vegetarian idea…

Some of the fine clothing available in the store windows of downtown Munich. There was actually some pretty cool dresses - I found a red velvet one for about 350 Euros I was interested in…hee, hee!

This is Anna and her brother. Anna also works for BMW. She is a goddess because she got us into a “tent” which is really a huge wooden structure where you can sit and eat and drink. As a matter of fact you MUST be sitting at a table to get served. These tents are quite packed and difficult to get in to, so it was really nice to have her helping us out! She was really sweet - we got to be friends waiting in the 45-minute lines for the bathroom together. Yikes! We are getting ready to go on a ride…
