Hi everyone -

Julien, Peter, Laen and I did the Amsterdam 48 Hour Film Festival a couple of weeks ago. Friday eve you are given a genre (ours was romance), a line of dialog (”What part did you have in this?”), a character (a painter named Anne) and a prop (A monkey) you must use. You have until Sunday eve (hence the 48 hrs) to create a 7 minute film. Much to our surprise and pleasure we won second place in the audience choice award AND the 48 hour film Fest created a special award just for us - Most Original - and made us a trophy - The Golden Soap Award. Hee, hee! When we set out to do the project it was ALL about having FUN - we really did not want to take it too seriously. In the end we were able to have TONS of fun (as you will see) and win awards too. YEAH! Lucky us. In case anyone is interested - it is an international competition, I am sure it will come to all of your cities (or one close by).

Irene, Peter’s sister, was just here for a week which was so nice - this photo at Cafe Kobalt, Irene, Rose, and back gammon, sums up a good portion of what we did with our time…

Peter is, as always, very busy with work and enjoying himself at 180. I have been busy, and have been learning a lot continuing with my editorial internship at Expatica.com and working as a nanny for two French children, Fleur (age 4) and Kasper (age 2 ½ ) a couple days a week. Finding work continues to be a challenge for me, but I continue to look and am exploring some opportunities – I will keep you all posted as to how things pan out…
Other than work we have been very busy with…well…life. So what have we been up to exactly in the months since I last wrote?
I celebrated my 34th birthday, which was lovely. We had a party with all of our fabulous Amsterdam friends. Peter made a bunch of delicious pizzas, and I made my fathers mushroom risotto. Much dining, drinking and silliness ensued. Good fun was had by all.
